Pearl began in 1946 in a small backyard workshop in Tokyo, Japan, founded by Katsumi Yanagisawa. From those humble beginnings producing music stands, Pearl recognised the growing demand for percussion instruments and has since grown to become the iconic global leader it is today.

Pearl is a Total Percussion brand, creating instruments to meet every musical need from drum sets, marching and concert percussion, to Latin and World percussion and electronic drums. Employing over 650 people globally and driven by its mission to deliver superior musical instruments, Pearl has continuously strived for perfection for over seven decades with the goal to contribute to an enriched and vibrant society through the creation of music.
